In accordance with Section 115.127 (5) RSMo. (1988), notice hereby is given that a general election to elect one (1) person to serve as councilman-at-large for the City of Charleston, Missouri will be held on April 4, 2023. The opening date for filing a declaration of candidacy is December 13, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. The declarations of candidacy must be filed with the City Clerk at the Charleston City Hall located at 204 North Main Street, Charleston, Missouri. The closing date for filing declarations of candidacy is January 17, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. Applicants must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age, a citizen of the United States, a qualified voter, and an inhabitant of the City of Charleston for at least one (1) year. They must also not be in arrears for any city tax lien, forfeiture, or defalcation in office.
